General information

Chickens super hard - a universal breed of meat and egg direction

As it was already written above, the Super Harco breed of chickens is the result of the hard work of Hungarian breeders. These birds are deservedly considered the best in the territory of their homeland. There was a little shade relatively recently, thanks to scientists from the company Babolna TETRA Kft.

The main goal of the breeders was to develop a highly productive, universal hybrid with improved qualities. The workers of science relied not only on success in laying and impressive weight, but also on rapid maturation and good health.

In the course of breeding works, local breeds of the egg and meat tendencies were used, as well as the well-known hybrid of the Tetra breed, another achievement of scientists. The result was appreciated by local farmers, and very soon it was officially registered as a meat cross.

Maintenance and care

The universality of chickens is not only in their performance - they are suitable for any living conditions. They can be contained in cellular batteries and spacious poultry houses with the possibility of walking. In any place they will be nice and calm.

Birds of beauty are resistant to cold and frost, but the optimum temperature in the house in winter is about 10-14 degrees. This mark is easily achieved by high-quality insulation and the installation of deep litter, so you can not heat the coop.

Spacious walking for birds is only a plus. The yard can not be fenced with a high fence, since the hens do not know how to fly. The neighborhood of the other living animals of the club are easily tolerated. The remaining requirements in the care and maintenance - standard.

Shedding and breaking egg production

A decrease in the length of daylight stimulates the onset of seasonal molting, which in the cross-country under consideration proceeds relatively quickly - approximately 1.5-2 months. Naturally, the laying process is temporarily suspended.

Special conditions of care for the period of molting is not required. A balanced menu enriched with vitamins and minerals will help the family recover quickly and resume their usual pattern of laying.

Frequent diseases

Super Kharko breed of chickens inherited resistance to viral and bacterial infections, and with good care almost does not get sick. The safety of an adult family is about 95%.

Health problems can be caused by an insufficient amount of nutrients in food, a violation of hygienic norms.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of chickens weight - ranging from performance and ending with a good instinct of hatching. In addition, they rarely get sick, are able to adapt to changes in living conditions and climate, and also have a calm character.

There are drawbacks, but not significant - the most pronounced is the slow fouling of feathers in young animals.

The origin of the breed

The super hard breed is the result of the breeders of the Hungarian company Babolna TETRA Kft. These chickens are the pride of Hungary. The breed was created with the aim of obtaining a highly productive hybrid of universal purpose.

Scientists took aboriginal Hungarian chickens as the basis for the new breed and crossed them with meat hens tetra. As a result, a bird was obtained with a body size that was an order of magnitude larger than its ancestors. Breed characteristics liking farmers, and super hard chickens quickly gained popularity at home and in this world.

Description and characteristics of the breed with photos

Chickens of super hard breed are distinguished by outstanding size, so they are often confused with broilers. This bird does not have any outstanding qualities of appearance, but some features distinguish breeds from all other varieties.

The constitution of the breed characteristic of chicken meat and egg direction. This is a large bird with a rounded chest and prominent belly. The rooster has a rectangular body located horizontally. Muscles are embossed, rounded, fluffy thighs, rounded back. Chickens have more protruding belly and chest.

Breed standards:

  • The neck is of medium length.

Breed productivity

Super Harco is an early maturing breed, rapidly growing and gaining body weight. Juveniles develop rapidly and reach puberty by 4-4.5 months. The breed has a good egg production.

In the year one layer gives 230-240 eggs. Egg weight - 60-65 grams. The number of eggs depends on the conditions of detention and properly organized feeding.

In the year one layer produces 230-240 eggs weighing up to 65 grams.

It is also noted that laying hens from poultry farms that consume industrial dry food and practically grow without movement produce much more eggs than free-range eggs.

During seasonal autumn molt, the process of carrying eggs stops. Shedding at the breed lasts 1.5 - 2 months. It is not necessary to create special conditions for the bird during this period, but it is worthwhile to increase the nutritional value of the feed for quick recovery of egg-laying.

The breed is quite productive as a source of meat. Already at 14 weeks the weight of a rooster is about 2 kilograms. A chicken at the age of 22 weeks weighs more than 2 kilograms. Such characteristics make the breed profitable for keeping in the farm.

Features care and maintenance

Super hard is considered to be a universal breed, not only because of its productivity, but also due to its adaptability to any conditions of detention. They feel great in poultry houses and cages. Possible maintenance of poultry in the free range in the yard.

Super hard is considered a universal meat and egg breed.

High breed fences are not required, since they do not seek to fly. With other breeds of chickens super hard get along without problems, so they can be kept in the same room with other birds.

Chickens super hard tolerate cold and do not stop laying eggs, even at sub-zero temperatures. But for maximum productivity, they should spend the night at a temperature of at least 10-14 degrees.

If the floor in the house is covered with a layer of sawdust chips or hay with a height of at least 7 centimeters, this temperature is reached without heating. In case of severe frosts in the hen house is to place a few lamps.

Feeding and diet

Breed super hard almost omnivorous, so there are no special rules for the preparation of their diet. Good results are given by feeding with grain mixtures in combination with wet mashes and cereals with vegetables. In the daily diet must always contain greens, fresh in summer, in winter - in the form of chopped hay, grass granules, or grass meal.

Chickens super hard unpretentious diet.

Important. During the laying of eggs, laying hens provide more protein foods and increase the amount of vitamin and mineral supplements. The amount of food in the winter period is increased by 15%.

In poultry farms, the breed is fed with high-quality compound feed, which consists of meal, cereals, vitamins and minerals. In this feed, the protein content is increased, which gives a rapid increase in body weight and min improves the taste of meat.

Breeding and growing chickens

Unlike other hybrid breeds, super hard have kept the instinct of laying and hatching eggs. The hens carefully and responsibly incubate the clutch and then raise the brood. Chickens appear on days 20-21 and weigh 40 grams when they appear.

When breeding in an incubator, the temperature is maintained at 37.4-37.5 degrees. The moisture level for 15 days is 55%, by the end of the incubation it is brought to 70%. On the 18-19th day, the eggs are slightly sprinkled with water once a day.

In the photo are chickens of Super Harco breed.

Nestlings are covered with black down with small white specks. The chicks are fledged rather slowly, so for their maintenance it is necessary to ensure the optimum temperature regime (30-31 degrees). From the second week to adapt to the environment, the temperature is weekly reduced by 2 degrees.

Chickens for rapid growth and proper development need good nutrition. The boiled egg is crushed, mixed with chopped greens, small grains (corn, millet, yachka). Every day, chicks are given a small amount of low-fat cottage cheese - this is the main source of protein and calcium for a growing body.

Chickens are super hardy hardy enough, so the survival rate is 95%. Losses are reduced due to the maintenance of hygiene and preventive measures. Effective management of brood nutrition with the help of special feed with vitamin and mineral supplements, which contains a balanced amount of all the elements necessary for rapid growth.

Warming chickens is recommended with warm water. For the prevention of infection in the intestines of babies, chamomile tea or tea is added to the water. Immunity is maintained by adding glucose and vitamins to water.

Chickens are super hardy hardy enough, so the survival rate is 95%.

If temperature conditions allow, at the age of 14-15 days chicks can be taken out for an hour's walk. Gradually, the time spent in the fresh air is increased by tempering babies.

It is important .. The peculiarities of growing super hard chickens depend on the purpose for which they are divorced. To get a full-fledged meat carcass in a short period of time, youngsters, starting from a month, keep in a confined space (in cages) and fed with feed with high protein content

From the onset of puberty and up to 2-2.5 years, chickens produce the maximum number of eggs. Then the egg production is sharply reduced, so the aged layers are allowed for meat and replaced by pullets from the new brood.

The males are ready for slaughter at the age of 6 months. At this time, their meat differs as much as good taste. For the formation of a flock of 10 hens of super kharko, 2 cocks are left: one adult primary and a spare young. As the main rooster ages, it is replaced by a young one, to which the rooster is again added from the new brood.

Chickens Super Harco maintain high egg production up to 2.5 years.

Advantages and disadvantages of the breed

The advantages of the super hard breed are:

  • Rapid growth and early puberty.
  • Adjustability to any conditions of detention.
  • Good egg production.
  • Keeping chickens incubation instinct.
  • Strong immunity and survival of young.
The advantages of the breed include high productivity, good adaptability.

The minus of the breed is the slow formation of feathers in chickens and, consequently, the need to keep them warm for a long time.

Poultry farmers reviews

Rick. My super hard for 2 months. I feed them with a mixture of grains, grass, waste and vegetable peels. They love cucumbers, zucchini, green onions. Grow quickly, do not get sick. I hooked them up to other chickens in the common room, I do not observe any problems.

Anastasia. The breed is very beneficial as a source of meat. Chickens hatch and grow very quickly. I leave part of the rejuvenation of the herd, the rest allowed for slaughter. The meat is tender, juicy. Practically do not demand leaving. They eat everything like regular chickens.

Breed breeding

Chickens super harko are the pride of breeders from Hungary, by whose efforts the breed was bred. The main role in the process of bird breeding was played by representatives of the Hungarian corporation. Babolna TETRA Kft.that were able to get a highly productive hybrid, effectively working in two directions: egg and meat. The local Hungarian laying hens and the best representatives of the tetra meat birds were involved in the selection process. As a result, the world saw a new breed of meat and egg direction, which combined the best characteristics of its ancestors.

Appearance and physique

As for the appearance of the hens of this breed, they do not have any outstanding, unique qualities. Super hard have a massive, oblong rectangular body with relief, powerful muscles, round thighs, proudly protruding chest, rounded abdomen and medium-sized wings, tight to the body. The head of a bird is of medium size, it has a small, slightly rounded beak of gray color, small gray ear lobes, pink round earrings. On the head there is a comb of a pink shade in the form of a leaf. The tail is beautiful, thick, upright. Cocks from the tail grow large long braids.

The bird is distinguished by strong, strong limbs with yellow-gray or gray plumage, widely spaced from each other. The color of chickens is black, with a greenish tint. In the area of the chest, neck and mane there are golden blotches.

The average weight of a rooster is 4.5 kg, chicken - 3.8 kg.

By nature, the hybrid super hard is almost perfect. Chickens combined all the best properties of its "genetic basis":

  • stress resistance - chickens do not react with a decrease in weight or productivity to stressful situations, for example, temperature drops, housing conditions, etc.,
  • peaceful, friendly disposition - the birds never show aggression towards either a person or their relatives, they do not fight and disassemble,
  • adaptation to conditions - Super Harco perfectly adapt to different habitat conditions, easily survive the content in the cage.

After how many begin to sweep and what is egg production per year

Super Harco - early breed of chickens, laying which begins at the age of 21-22 weeks. The weight of one egg on average reaches 60-65 g. The period of intensive egg-laying in a bird lasts about one year, during which it is able to carry 230-240 eggs. Eggs are medium in size, distinguished by a durable brown shell.

After a year of life, egg production begins to decline. And after 2-2.5 years, the bird ceases to bring eggs. That is why it is recommended to send chickens for slaughter after the first year of egg production.

During the period of seasonal autumn molt, egg laying stops for approximately 1.5-2 months. During this period, poultry farmers advise to add to the poultry diet an increased amount of nutrients that will help to quickly resume laying.

Adult chickens

Adult chickens are not picky in their diet and can eat almost anything. However, taking into account the physiological needs of birds for feeding, it is possible to achieve maximum rates for lay and weight gain.

In the conditions of a super harko factory, in most cases, they feed on specialized compound feed. They include: cereals, meal, bone meal, chalk and other vital components.

In households, the diet of chickens consists of wet mash, a mixture of cereals, cereals and vegetables. Particularly well, the birds react to the mash with the addition of zucchini, green onions and cucumbers. Greens are considered to be a mandatory component of the menu: tops of plants, nettles in summer, hay and pellets in winter. Birds will not refuse to feed, in which various food waste, fruits or even berries are added. During the laying period the ration should be enriched with protein foods, vitamin and mineral supplements. In winter, the volume of food is increased by 15%, and during shedding it increases the nutritional value of the feed. On average, chickens consume 100-150 g of feed each day.

In the chicken coop with walking

Despite the fact that the bird has good frost resistance and is able to carry even at low temperatures, it is better to provide a warm, favorable microclimate in the hen house with a temperature in the range from +10 to +14 ° C. To achieve such indicators will help the floor warming litter of sawdust, straw, shavings, at least 7 cm thick. For normal laying of layers, it is necessary to organize a 12-hour light day. Therefore, in winter, you should worry about installing artificial sources of light, such as fluorescent or incandescent bulbs.

It will not be out of place in the hen house to create good ventilation, but at the same time one should strictly follow the absence of drafts. It is necessary to regularly clean the poultry house, clean the wet litter, do disinfection with special preparations or a weak solution of potassium permanganate.

The constant walking of the hens only positively affects the health of the bird. In this case, the territory can not be fenced, because these chickens do not know how to take off and do not seek to do so.

Is it possible to breed in cages

Cellular housing will be the best solution if it is planned to raise large numbers of chickens, and there is not enough room for walking. At the same time, the egg production of chickens, despite a certain narrowness, does not suffer. Moreover, with such a content, the bird eats less food, because with little movement, energy consumption is reduced.

The room where the cells will be located should be warm, well ventilated, dry and clean. Ideal temperature indicators are + 20-27 ° C, humidity - within 50-60%.The cell must also meet some requirements:

  • availability of troughs and troughs,
  • special egg compartment
  • special compartment for poultry waste products.

It is recommended to clean the eggs as often as possible so that the birds do not start pecking at them.

History of appearance, appearance, features

Chickens breed Super Harco are the result of breeders from Hungary. The breed was bred by experienced breeders, whose main goal was to create a highly productive hybrid of meat-like orientation, and they succeeded.

The base of the breed became aboriginal Hungarian birds crossed with Tetra meat hens. As a result, a large bird was obtained, surpassing the size of its ancestors. Breed characteristics of farmers appreciated, and the birds instantly gained popularity not only in their homeland, but throughout the world.

In birds Harco not have any features in appearance, but with some features they stand out from the rest of the breeds.

  • Unique color. Lush black fur coats of birds attract a greenish tint.
  • Unusual coloring. On the tips of the feathers of the chest, neck and mane there are golden spots that create an amazing pattern.
  • Typical physique. Birds have an average size typical of meat-breeding species. Looks like broilers. Males have a rectangular body, pronounced muscular relief.
  • The birds have a rounded back, magnificent hips.
  • On the short neck there is a small head with a leaf-shaped pink comb and round earrings. On the face there is a medium-sized wide beak.
  • The massive body fits snugly to powerful, widely spaced gray-yellow or gray paws.

Birds Super Harco have a calm, peaceful nature. The best properties of their “genetic basis” are combined in hens. They are stress-resistant, do not lose weight in emergency situations. Animals can easily adapt to habitat conditions, may well be contained in cages. Birds are not inclined to show aggression towards their relatives or man.

Shedding and scheduled replacement

When the autumn molt begins, the birds stop laying eggs, which lasts 1.5-2 months. During this period, experienced poultry houses strongly recommend the inclusion in the diet of nutrients that will help to quickly resume laying. Other special conditions at this time chickens do not require.

From the moment when the birds reach sexual maturity and up to 2-2.5 years, they give the maximum number of eggs. Then egg productivity declines. During this period, the hens are usually allowed for meat and replaced with young birds.

Roosters are ready for slaughter at the age of six months. At this time, the taste of their meat is as good as possible.

Dilution in cages

With cell content, it is optimal to raise chickens in case you plan to grow large livestock, and there is no room for walking. At the same time, despite some crampedness, the egg production of birds does not decrease. The positive point with this content is that the bird consumes less feed, because it practically does not move, respectively, it consumes a minimum of energy.

Cells must be located in a warm, clean, dry room with good ventilation. Ideally, the temperature in the house will be + 20-27 degrees, humidity - about 50-60%. In the cage, drinking bowls and feeders, a compartment for eggs and a special container for chickens are installed. It is recommended to remove eggs more often, so that birds do not start to peck at them.

If the farmer’s goal is to breed Harco to obtain meat in a short period, young chicks from one month of age are required to be caged and given food high in protein.

Nutrition for adults

Harco's birds are picky in their food and eat almost everything. But taking into account the physiological nutritional needs of birds, it will be possible to achieve the maximum result regarding weight gain and egg production:

  • In industrial conditions Birds are fed with specialized compound feeds that contain grist, chalk, bone meal, and other components.
  • In households birds are fed grain mixtures, cereals and vegetables, wet mashes. Especially like the birds mashany with the addition of cucumbers, green onions, zucchini. Be sure to feed the birds with greens: tops of plants, nettles in summer, hay and pellets - in winter. Birds feed on fruits, food waste and berries. During the laying period, the layers need to receive protein, vitamins and mineral supplements.

How and what to feed the chicks?

At the beginning of their development, chicks especially need excellent feeding. The diet should contain boiled eggs, which are mixed with chopped greens and small cereals. Also in the daily menu can not do without fat-free cottage cheese, which includes proteins and calcium, which has a beneficial effect on the formation of bones and skeleton of the chick.

Until the moment when the bird is 10 days old, food is given exclusively in liquid form and warm. The farmer will need to regularly feed the chicks with clean, fresh water. In addition to water, experienced poultry farmers recommend watering small birds with weakly brewed tea and a weak chamomile extract.

In the 1.5-2 months the main diet - combined feed intended for universal chickens. In this feed there are elements and vitamins that contribute to the good development of the bird. The feed contains hay, oilseeds, pulses, grains, leguminous crops, vitamin and mineral supplements.

Chickens and their breeding

A special feature of this hybrid breed is the instinct of laying and hatching eggs. Layers take care of laying, responsibly treat incubation, care for posterity. On days 20-21, chickens appear, their weight is about 40 grams.

Recommendations for growing:

  1. If the farmer has chosen the method of breeding chicks in the incubator, the temperature in it should be at least 37.5 degrees. The first two weeks adhere to a humidity level of 55%, the following days the figure is 70%. Sprinkle eggs once a day for 18 and 19 days. Read more about incubating chicken eggs here.
  2. Chicks are already born with a black gun, where small white patches can be seen. From the fact that the feathers of birds Harco appear late, chicks have to warm under the lamp for a long time. It is optimal to set the temperature for chicks at 30-31 degrees. The adaptation period from 2 weeks after birth begins with a decrease in temperature by 2 degrees and beyond.
  3. For the chicks to grow quickly, gain weight and develop, they need to be well fed. It is advisable to include in the diet boiled eggs, pre-shredded. The product is mixed with chopped greens and small grains. Every day, birds should eat low-fat cottage cheese, which is a source of calcium and protein.
  4. Chicks otpaivat warm water. To avoid the appearance of infectious diseases will tea, chamomile decoction. Vitamins and glucose are added to the water - this helps to maintain immunity.
  5. A farmer can reduce the death rate of chickens during regular housekeeping and preventive measures.
  6. Toddlers should eat a special feed containing mineral and vitamin supplements.
  7. With good weather and air temperature, for 14-15 days after birth, it is allowed to take chickens outside for no more than 1 hour. Gradually, time walks increase.

Features of the breeding of birds of this breed depend on the purpose for which they are bred. For a short period, it is possible to get a full-fledged meat carcass when keeping young stock from one month of age in cages, where it is fed with feed containing a high percentage of protein.

For the formation of a herd for 10 Super Harco chickens there are 2 roosters: 1 adult main and 1 spare young. As the main rooster ages, it replaces the young one, and a male from the new brood is added to it.

Disease and Prevention

The main condition for maintaining the health of this breed is the observance of sanitary standards in the house and optimal humidity. The breed has a special sensitivity to infectious diseases, developing on the background of infection of intestinal and skin parasites. To solve the problem will help timely vaccination, treatment for worms and antiparasitic agents.

Sanitary processing is required to expose not only the bird itself, but all surfaces in the house. Such agents as Bactericide, Monclavite, Virocid are considered an excellent remedy. To scare away bedbugs, lice and fleas, use bundles of wormwood, hanging them inside the chicken coop.

Improving immunity contributes to proper nutrition. If birds get enough nutrients and vitamins, their bodies will be less susceptible to viral and infectious diseases.

Indicators of egg production and growth of Super Harco chickens

Egg laying chickens begin at the age of 21-22 weeks, the average egg weight is 60-62 grams. For a period of 52 weeks, about 210-230 brown eggs are produced from one layer. During the laying period, the laying hens use an average of 150 grams of feed per day. Chickens and cockerels Super Harco have quite a significant body weight. At the age of 14 weeks, the average weight of the rooster is 1.9-2.0 kg, and the chickens at the time of the start of egg-laying, that is, at the age of 21-22 weeks, have an average of 2.2-2.5 kg. Against the background of such qualitative characteristics, the hybrid should be attributed to the number of the most favorable for keeping in conditions of private and private farms.

Breed description

The rooster of this breed has a strong folded rectangular body.

However, its body shape looks somewhat rounded due to the presence of abundant plumage on the body. The neck is not very long, on it grows a long plumage, falling on the shoulders of the cock Kharq.

The neck gradually moves from the back, which is at a slight angle. Shoulders are wide, wings are pressed tightly. Their ends are partially covered with long lumbar plumage, falling down from the back of the rooster.

The small tail of the roosters is set high. It grows very long rounded braids, painted in dark colors with a slight green tint. The chest is planted deep and wide, the stomach is large, but pulled in by the cocks Harka.

The head of the cock is wide, but not large. On the red face of the bird is completely absent plumage. The comb is large, upright. It can have from 5 to 6 teeth with deep cuts. Earrings are elongated, scarlet.

Ear lobes are painted gray. The eyes are red or orange-red. The beak is strong, dark or light gray, but at the same time its tip always has a light color.

The shins of the Kharka breed are well hidden under copious plumage. As a rule, they are painted in light gray color. Hocks are short, fingers wide apart.

If you are interested in Westphalian layers, then on the page you can find out all the details about them.

The hens of this breed have a horizontal back, a large belly and a rounded chest. A small tail is almost straight, forming a small angle with the back of a chicken. On a reduced crest, teeth and cuts are clearly visible. The ear lobes of the hens are darker.

Content and cultivation

Fortunately, Harka breed chickens are not demanding in terms of housing. They live equally well in spacious poultry houses, cramped factory cages, and also on the free-range.

The calm temper of the breed allows it to be kept together with other poultry and animals without the fear that a conflict may arise.

As for feeding, for these birds ideal protein feed. It is on them that birds quickly gain weight and begin to trot earlier. Domestic food is also well suited for this breed, but on them weight gain will be more slow.

To make the birds grow well on homemade cereals, boiled eggs can be added to them. For young animals, feeding low-fat cottage cheese is well suited.

Some experts have noticed that Hark's chickens rush much better in good light conditions. As a light source, if there is no natural walking range, special lamps may appear.

With their help, you can easily adjust the length of daylight, but do not forget that too long days tire layers, so they begin to lay fewer eggs.

The first egg-laying in Hark’s hens occurs at week 22. The average egg weight is about 60 g, but larger samples should be selected for incubation.

In just 52 weeks, these layers can carry more than 230 eggs with a light brown shell. Over the entire laying period, the Harkey consume only 150 g of feed. This is a relatively small amount for this level of egg production.

As for body weight, already at two weeks of age, roosters can reach a mass of 2 kg, and chickens, 1.5 kg. In the period of the first egg laying, the hens grow to a mass of 2.5 kg. It can be seen that chickens grow rapidly rapidly, so their maintenance will be especially beneficial for both poultry farms and private breeders.

Instead of Kharka chickens, Avicolor chickens can be grown on the backyard territory. These birds are characterized by even greater egg production at the same growth rate.

They can lay more than 300 eggs per year. Also Avikolor chickens are of excellent quality meat, which is somewhat similar to the meat of ordinary domestic chickens.

Productive chickens of the Kharka breed grow very quickly and start to nest early. This allows farmers to get their benefits much faster than in other breeds of domestic chickens.

In addition, Harkey get along well in any conditions of detention and do not require special care for themselves, so they are popular with novice breeders.
